4.       Possible topics: getting interested in reading for the first time in elementary school when I read the “Series of Unfortunate Events” books, when my brother taught me how to read, learning how to set up blogger and post blogs, learning how to write persuasive essays in 7th grade

5.       My story I want to tell is about when I first gained interest in reading when I was in the fourth grade. My purpose for telling this story is mainly to fulfil my assignment but also to explore my past learnings.

6.       The audience I will be presenting my work will all most likely of had a similar experience of gaining interest in reading. I believe I will not have to do much explaining because almost everyone has had a similar experience.

7.       My attitude is affectionate to my story. I intend for the narrative to be a fairly serious story.

8.       My narrative will be in print form

9.       I see myself in my elementary school library at Green Mountain elementary school. The walls are all white with large bookcases lining them full of books. In the center of the large room is smaller book cases running parallel to each other. Next to tis off to the side is a section full of tables to sit at and read. And off to the back of the room is a computer lab.

10.   I hear classmates of mine talking and the librarian helping them trying to figure out what books to check out.

11.   I remember the smell of the library being musty and the smell of old books and paper

12.   I feel warm and a smooth laminated wooden table that I’m sitting at.

13.   I have the taste of mint gum in my mouth

14.    My teachers name was Mrs.  Langholff she was a tall woman with short black hair. She was a mid-aged woman I believe in her mid-30’s she was my fourth grade teacher at the time. She dressed in black from most of the times I can recall seeing her. She spoke slowly and clearly most of the time.

15.   Teacher: “do you need help finding something to read? You’ve been walking around for 20 minutes and still don’t have a book.”

Me: “yeah, I can find anything”

Teacher: “what kind of books do like to read”

Me: “adventure”

Teacher: “Have you read harry potter?”

Me: “no I don’t like Harry Potter”

Teacher: “have you read the series of unfortunate events?”

Me: “no. What’s that?”

Teacher: “it’s about three orphans that try to escape a man their placed in foster care with”

Me: “okay I’ll try that I guess”

16.   The action was very calm as I had first discovered a book and started reading it.

17.   The discovery of these books were actually very significant making myself actually enjoy reading. After reading these books I became a daily reader. Before this time it was very rare for myself to actually pick up a book and decide to read it. Which I did almost every night after this time. This experience has overall made myself a better reader. If this moment did not happen my life could have been affected dramatically. Before this time I struggle vary much with reading and I would need a lot of extra help from teachers and tutors. This story matters to me because it overall made me a better reader and helped me with my education.
